CIRI Has An Exciting Job Opportunity Available

CIRI is recruiting to fill the position of Director, Professional Development and Communication

Reporting to the President & CEO, the main purpose of this position is to develop and deliver professional development events across Canada; continue to build recognition and participation in the certification program; actively recruit and retain sponsors; and develop and implement a marketing/communications program for the organization.

Professional Development Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the annual professional development program, including the Annual Conference, Essentials of Investor Relations, IR Thought Leader Roundtables and workshops, with the Program Coordinator
  • Prepare annual budgets for professional development program with the Program Coordinator
  • Prepare and implement a marketing plan for the professional development program
  • Identify speakers for the professional development events and work with them to develop content
  • Support CIRI’s Chapter Boards, ensuring a high degree of co-ordination between Chapter and CIRI National events to maximize attendance
  • Work with the Resource and Education Committee to fulfill its mandate which includes developing a standard presentation on the role of investor relations and building relationships with educational institutions

Additional Annual Conference Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Committee to develop the program and secure speakers
  • Work with the speakers to develop content
  • Create content for the Program Brochure and Program Guide
  • Oversee on-site staff and responsibilities

Certification Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute a marketing plan for the certification program
  • Liaise with the Richard Ivey School of Business on program applications
  • Participate on the Certification Curriculum and Governance Committees
  • Prepare and mark the Certified Professional in Investor Relations (CPIR) exams
  • Market the Belle Mulligan Scholarship for the certification program
  • Participate on the Belle Mulligan Scholarship Selection Committee

Sponsorship Responsibilities:

  • Continuously evaluate and evolve the sponsorship/marketing opportunities
  • Solicit sponsorship on an annual basis from existing and prospective sponsors
  • Prepare and fulfill annual sponsorship agreements

Issues Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the Issues Committee meetings
  • Work with the Issues Committee to prepare appropriate communications as required
  • Leverage issues topics and resources in professional development programs

Communications/Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Develop a communications/marketing program
  • Implement, monitor and evaluate the communications/marketing program
  • Prepare various communications as required

Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 3+ years experience in Investor Relations or related role
  • Project management experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated self-starter, able to work independently in a multi-priority environment
  • Ability to interface and work cooperatively across an organization
  • Ability to travel
