CIRI Issues Survey - Proxy Voting Infrastructure

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) issued Consultation Paper 54-401 Review of the Proxy Voting Infrastructure and is seeking feedback by November 13, 2013 on selected aspects of shareholder democracy, particularly regarding the integrity and reliability of the proxy voting infrastructure.  Comments from stakeholders, including issuers, as well as targeted consultations will be used by CSA to determine next steps, which may or may not lead to regulatory action or policy reform.

CIRI is seeking member responses as part of the process to develop its submission to the CSA regarding this Consultation Paper, prior to the CSA’s November 13, 2013 deadline.

CIRI Members are asked to refer to the October 29 email from CIRI Issues to access the survey and submit responses by November 4, 2013.
