CIRI Introduces IR directions with First Research Study on Guidance

CIRI has just launched IR directions, periodic surveys to establish benchmarks and identify trends in the practice of investor relations in Canada.

IR directions: Guidance Practices
The first edition looks at how many Canadian issuers are providing guidance as well as the type, time horizon and frequency of their guidance; how guidance is communicated; and whether changes in guidance practices might be on the horizon.

This report establishes a benchmark from which CIRI can conduct subsequent guidance surveys and monitor the evolution of guidance practices going forward. Our second IR directions survey is currently being developed and will be released in the coming months. This survey will help us benchmark overall trends in board-shareholder engagement; the role that IROs play in this process; top governance issues; and overall governance practices.
