CIRI Issues Advocacy: CIRI Submission to Government on Mandatory Advisory Say-on-Pay Votes
CIRI submitted comments to Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada on their Consultation Paper regarding upcoming changes to the CBCA, specifically on mandatory non-binding say-on-pay votes.
CIRI supports the proposal that non-binding say-on-pay votes be: reported at the AGM; posted on the issuers website; and included in the proxy circular the following year. In addition, CIRI recommends that issuers include the non-binding say-on-pay vote results in the news release outlining the results of the election of directors.
