On August 30, we issued an Issues Backgrounder: New Developments in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Disclosure for Companies that addresses the current ESG landscape as well as what expectations are on the horizon.

IR focus: Earnings Guidance: Best Practices for IROs  was published on May 16. In this issue, we examine earnings guidance from the perspective of those who offer it, with a view to gaining insight into what information they provide, why, the cost/benefits of doing so and how IR teams participate in the practice.

Is Your Supply Chain Ready for Canada's Modern Slavery Legislation?

Royal assent was given to the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act (the Act) in May of 2023. The Act requires many businesses with connections to Canada, and federal government institutions, to report annually on steps that they have taken to prevent and reduce the risk that forced labour or child labour is being used in their supply chains (with the first reports due May 31, 2024).

B.C. Securities Commission Gains New Powers
