IR Leader
January 21, 2020
Do you have a particular interest in the regulatory aspects of IR? Do you want to be involved in identifying key issues and educating peers on how these issues impact the IR role? if so, CIRI has an opportunity for you.

CIRI is looking for a few keen IROs to participate on the Issues Committee. The Issues Committee produces several publications on issues and their impact on IR to educate CIRI members. The Committee also polls CIRI members to raise awareness of issues and solicit feedback, most often when preparing comments or submissions to the regulatory authorities.

If this sounds like an opportunity you are interested in, please contact either Yvette Lokker or Eleanor Fritz to discuss.

Be informed. Be connected. Be current. Be a member of the Issues Committee!

CIRI's Issues Committee is responsible for identifying and informing you – our members – of important issues and their impact on IR. In some cases, CIRI responds to regulators on proposed regulatory amendments and may even do so in consultation with other organizations, increasing awareness of an issue – benefitting you.

Now, we have an ask of you – it is time to renew your membership. To ensure your membership is not disrupted, please pay your invoice online. To do so, please visit CIRI.org and Sign In using your email address as your username. Select your name from the top right corner to access your profile. Click the Renew Now button on the left and you will be taken to your open 2020 invoice where you can complete the payment. Your payment is complete once you receive an email from CIRI with your order confirmation. Should you require assistance with this, please contact Lora Turner.

Energy Markets are In Transition, and Investors Are Retreating. Here's Why

While the stock market has boomed, energy stocks have not. Indeed, they have been the worst-performing sector over the last decade. This is particularly ironic, since U.S. oil and gas production has boomed over the same period, making the United States the world's largest producer of oil and gas - and making the country virtually self-sufficient.

Women on Boards: Hitting an Ambitious Goal

It was an ambitious goal when it was set in 2010: triple the percentage of female board directors on corporate boards by 2020. But as this new year dawned, more than three out of every ten directors - 30.6%, to be exact - at the 250 largest publicly traded firms in the UK are women. The goal now?
