Insider Trading

Provincial securities laws prohibit those who have access to undisclosed material information about a public company from trading the securities of that company or advising others of such information (tipping) until the information has been generally disclosed. Companies are also subject to insider trading prohibitions. A company has no more right to buy or sell its own securities while management is in possession of undisclosed material information than do individual officers and directors.
