Rise to the Challenge: A Higher Standard of IR

In both bull and bear markets, investor relations is a demanding career. We’re the 'jack of all trades' for our companies, keeping up with regulatory changes and global economics, communicating the technical complexities of our industry, and understanding the environmental, social and economic concerns of our stakeholders and the potential impact on the company. We travel the globe, talk for hours, write countless emails and press releases and try to convey the corporate message in a manner that meets the needs of every shareholder. Some days we’re elated, other days we’re exhausted, but one fact rings true for every investor relations professional: this job is challenging, but it’s never boring.

As your stakeholders demand more from you, we call on you to rise to the challenge and push yourselves to reach a higher standard of investor relations. CIRI’s 2013 Annual Conference will help you meet and exceed that challenge.

Based on your input, the Annual Conference Committee has developed a comprehensive program to help you reach a higher level of excellence in your profession. We’ve paid special attention this year to the different needs of small cap and large cap companies to ensure all of our attendees hear about topics relevant to their investor relations program.

You will hear directly from CEOs and Directors to gain insight into C-Suite expectations and how IROs can get a seat at the Board table. You’ll learn how to prepare for proxy season and engage with activist shareholders. Our panel of sustainability experts will discuss how CSR reporting can give your company a competitive advantage in the market. You’ll hear about regulatory changes, how and why you should market abroad, how to develop your own brand, what the sell-side needs from you, and options for raising capital in today’s challenging market.

Knowing what’s going on in the markets and where they’re headed is half the battle. Todd Hirsch, Senior Economist at ATB Financial, will share his insight into global market trends and what to expect in the coming year. And should things go sideways and your company become front page news, Jeff Ansell, media trainer and Harvard lecturer, will provide strategies for navigating the media scrum and ensuring both you and your CEO are equipped to handle any crisis situation.

Are you up to the challenge? We hope you join us in beautiful Whistler, British Columbia at CIRI’s premier event, which is guaranteed to take your investor relations program to the next level.  Click here to register now.
