CIRI BC held an engaging virtual Chapter event in October on the subject of ESG. The panel of industry professionals included: Patrick Evans, CEO, Mayfair Gold; David Quezada, Analyst, Raymond James; Michelle Tanguay, ESG specialist; and moderator Taylor Thoen, BTV. Discussions regarding sustainability and ESG ranged from what investors look for in reporting to what institutions require in terms of investment criteria. Quezada shared examples of best practices he has observed. Tanguay addressed how companies and Boards can enhance their ESG skills. Evans explained that after ESG became a key component of his company’s culture, it developed into an integral part of all investor communications. The last quarter of 2022 has been busy for CIRI Québec, as a new initiative entitled Mornings with CIRI was launched. The objective was to offer a great recurring opportunity to discuss the latest IR trends and exchange ideas with peers, while having a morning coffee. It was decided to host a monthly virtual event featuring relevant and dynamic topics.
On October 7, 2022, we were pleased to host panelists Edwin Anderson, Partner, and Corey Rochkin, Principal, both from Oliver Wyman, a global leader in management consulting. They discussed the topic of Disclosure Exposure: Implications of the Changing World of Climate Disclosure.
On November 4, 2022, we had the pleasure of hosting André Cinq-Mars, Managing Director, Lumi Canada, who provided an overview of IR-specific trends and addressed technologies and options for the IR market segment. With the return to normality, we discussed the evolution of technology and what we can expect in terms of upcoming IR events (AGMs, Non-Deal Roadshows, Investor Days, etc.).
