Lorne Gorber, F.CIRI

CIRI is shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of our friend and colleague Lorne Gorber, F.CIRI on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Lorne leaves behind a tremendous legacy of respect, expertise, excellence and advancement of the investor relations profession. He will be fondly remembered as a kind, charismatic and inspirational leader and mentor.

Since joining CIRI in 2002, Lorne has been a supporter of the investor relations profession, sharing his insights and knowledge at various professional development events and mentoring those new to IR. Lorne served on the Quebec Chapter Executive from 2005 to 2011, acting as Chapter Chair from 2009 to 2011. At the time of his passing, Lorne was an active member of CIRI’s Editorial Board and writer of IR focus. Lorne remained committed to providing advice, guidance and mentorship whenever called upon.

In 2017, Lorne was recognized as a CIRI Fellow for his achievements in bringing distinction to the investor relations profession and serving as a role model and mentor for others.

In addition to his involvement with CIRI, Lorne was Executive Vice President, Investor and Public Relations at CGI Inc. until 2020. Since leaving CGI, Lorne had several consulting and entrepreneurial initiatives underway.

Lorne’s witty sense of humour, generosity and dedication to his profession will be profoundly missed by all of his CIRI colleagues. Rest in peace, Lorne.
