In Their Words: Feedback from CIRI's 39th Annual Conference

By all accounts, CIRI’s 39th Annual Investor Relations Conference, held in Saint-Sauveur, Quebec, from June 17 to 19, was a resounding success. Here’s what a few of the delegates had to say, in their own words.

“As a first-time attendee, I found the 2026 CIRI Annual Conference to be an engaging and worthwhile experience. The combination of insightful presentations, meaningful discussions, and networking opportunities made it easy to learn from experienced professionals across the industry. I came away with practical ideas to enhance investor communications and a broader perspective on the trends shaping our profession. Most importantly, I left feeling inspired by the openness, expertise, and collaborative spirit of the CIRI community.”

The conference provided valuable insights into emerging trends, digital engagement, and evolving investor expectations, while offering practical ideas that I can immediately apply to my work. What stood out most were the conversations with peers and the willingness of experienced professionals to share their knowledge. I leave inspired, better connected, and with a deeper appreciation for the power of collaboration in our profession.”

“This was my first CIRI Annual Conference, and I found it incredibly valuable. The sessions went beyond high-level discussion and focused on practical ideas and tools that can be applied right away. It was great catching up with peers in the REIT sector while also meeting new people from other industries and exchanging ideas and best practices. I gained valuable insights from the sessions on earnings communications, investor engagement, and the use of AI. I’m grateful for the opportunity to attend and thank the CIRI team for organizing such a well-run Conference in beautiful Saint-Sauveur. I’m already looking forward to next year’s Conference!”

“Attending the 2026 Conference was energizing. It is always great to spend time with peers and learn from the best. My biggest takeaway from the Conference is: what is old is new again. The core factors that differentiate the strongest IROs and the strongest IR programs remain thought leadership, strategy, engagement, responsiveness and a deep understanding of your company. Despite the unprecedented geopolitical environment and AI both as a material factor in how it dominates indices and can transform workflow, the stuff that makes for strong IR remains the same. There were many great sessions – on the Crisis Communications panel, there were some great perspectives shared by all panelists, including how one issuer had changed its disclosure policy such that any information that the company felt would be important to investors would be disclosed – rather than what would be considered a material fact – which is a much higher standard. This was based on the premise that transparency must be front and centre for IR. Finally, it reinforced for me how important our community is, and how we are stronger together, and learning from each other.”
